| The BRAWL Tournament 2011: A Polycount Challenge | |
| The BRAWL Tournament is an official competition organized by www.polycount.com. The goal this time was to recreate a level from a picture of an old 2D fighting game of our choice. I recreated the Frasco stage from Guilty Gear XX Slash into a sci-fi ship hub/waiting room. The big challenge for me was to acomplish a clean-like sci-fi style, it's always easy to add dirt everywhere to have a nice look, but it's something else to convey interesting and clean shapes with minimalist texture work. Most of the look is achieved through shader sexyness. |
